Meeting about the topic "Healthy Food" at Kalinino's Public school

17th April of 2015 SIQA's EVS volunteer from Germany, Lucy Telman and SIQA's staff members visited Kalinini public school, Gardabani Municipality. The meeting was also attended by Gardabani #4 public school civic club members. The main topic of the event was "Healthy Food". Volunteer conducted experiment on club members, aim of the experiment was to show them, not to judge food only it's cover, but first think which one is more healthy and beneficial for the human body.
In the second part of meeting volunteer showed them so-called "Food Pyramid", and they talked about how much they eat healthy and what are the necessary ingredients in food rations. 

Students met sociologists

8th April of 2015 Rustavi and Akhaxli Samgori Public school students met sociologists Tamuna Kurdadze and Salome Kulishvili. meeting was held at SIQA's office. 
Main topic of the meeting was research, planing and implementation. Students discussed the advantage and disadvantages of qualitative and quantitative studies, were introduce to main features of target group elections and creating a  questionnaire. They were involved in role-playing games and situational exercises. They adopted roles of interviewers and respondents. 
Sociologists introduced basic methods of processing of results, to students. Participants will be able to share this knowledge with classmates, and use this experience for school projects.

SIQA's Delegation in Bulgaria

SIQA's delegation participated in the international exchange project "Youth volunteers in Family Farming - United for a world free from poverty and hunger", which took place in Bulgaria on 23-29 March 2015

Shaomiani #2 Public school Pupils granted a meeting with invited Guest

27th March of 2015 SIQA organized meting between Shaomiani Public school civics club members and Municipal education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Division. Meeting took place at Municipal Board building. Students were introduced to opportunities of  self-realization for young people in the local municipality. 
Rustavi theatre club "Bravo" 's young director Nika Gabatashvili also attained the meeting. Meeting was very interactive. Guest spoke about his experience, challenges and interesting aspects of the profession of director. 
This kind of meeting will increase the civic engagement of  young people, help them to determine the terms of professional orientation and promote the process of integration of ethnic minorities.  

SIQA's European volunteers meeting with Javshaniani public school students

26th of March 2015 SIQA's European volunteers from Germany and Poland - Hannah Mathias, Lucy Telman and Beata Gudz, with SIQA's members met from Azerbaijan civic club members from Javshaniani Public school, Bolnisi municipality. Volunteers organized workshop about gender equality and women's self-realization. The students created a model of modern woman, talked about women's rights and how to realize their professional and employment opportunities. Participants emphasize the need of full education for girls. Azerbaijan students got new inter-cultural experience. civic club of this school, under the guidance of guardian Lela Tsiklauri, planned new interesting activities, they will continue advocate for elimination garbage pollution of school yard's water channel.    

'Visit at the organization "Ekokhedva"



25th March of 2015, with SIQA's help pupils from 10th grade, public school of village Bogvi, Tetritskaro municipality, cooperated with organization "Ekokhedva". 
Students visited office of the organization and met with it's director and project coordinators. 
During the visit students were informed about organization's work style and the current projects.  
With help of Illustrated Materials youth received detailed information on the waste and garbage difference, the importance of saving resources and environmental pollution risk. They also were introduced to solar-powered devices.   
"Ekokhedva" 's representative Madona Pirvelashvili informed pupils about 4R principle and recycle process stages. After discussing examples of various countries, participants talked about Georgian's environmental situation.   
At the end of the meeting mini-quiz was held. The students answered questions from the received information. Some pupils were awarded a T-shirt of the organization, each participants received an illustrated reading materials.
For students day was very interesting and fruitful. Bogvi public school students planned activities which will be implemented in the school.The school will start collecting waste paper, the public will be informed about the importance of the reduction of resources, they also will study issue of landfill in their village. The students express their desire to cooperate actively with the organization.    

SIQA sent Georgian delegation at training course "ACTIVatE through Non-Formal Education"


SIQA sent Georgian delegation to participate at the project "ACTIVatE through Non-Formal Education". Training was held in Riga, Latvia. Georgian participants Tsira Tavshavadze. Stanislav Tsibulski and Olga Kikava, with foreign colleagues  were discussing  method to work with people with special needs,Participants also shared their experience with each other, and talk about situation which is in their country about this issue.

SIQA send one more EVS volunteer to Slovania

Last year SIQA's Volunteer Guradna Dzamelashvili went as EVS volunteer to Slovenia.  With local organization she will plan and organize activities for young people for one year.

Visit at Marneuli Justice house

17th of March 2015 SIQA organized visit at Justice House, for public school pupils, in Marneuli. 
Visit was guided by Manager of Justice House Giorgi Gogoladze. He showed participants every area of Justice House and give them information about it's services. Participants were 23 Pupils  from Kachagani #1, #2, Araflo, Taqalo and Kurali Public schools, also 4 civic education teacher. 
Pupils suggested that they can volunteer at Justice house. This proposal was approved and in fields of program 9 student will volunteer at Justice house.
  

Training " Teaching of Democratic Citizenship"

12-15 March of 2015, Training "Teaching Democratic Citizenship" was held at SIQA's office. Participants  were Qvemo Qartli Region program's target school's 27 civic education teachers. Training was leaded by civic education expert Tea Lobjanidze.
During training they discuss main issues of teaching civic education, choosing and using learning resources, civic involvement, project as a teaching method, pupil's evaluating methods, what is the main role of school at teaching civic education. 
Training  "Teaching Democratic Citizenship" is organized in fields of program "Momavlis Taoba" (Future Generation).  This program is executed by PH International and financed by USAID. Program is organized by Center For Training and Consultancy (CTC) and is supported by Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia .


SIQA participated in exhibition of volunteers

7th March of 2015 SIQA's youth workers participated in exhibition of volunteers, which was held in Tbilisi and was organized by "Helping Hand". 
First part of session, participants divided in working groups. They talked about how to make volunteering more popular and  shared experience with each other. Exhibition took place at second session. Guest were able to know more about organizations and possibilities to volunteer there. 
Many participants wanted to be volunteer at SIQA and they filed online applications.

"How to film the Video" workshop


7th March of 2015 SIQA organized workshop "How to film the Video". The aim of the workshop was for target schools' Pupils of program "Momavlis Taoba" (Future Generation) to learn many elements of filming a video and then use it in practice. Knowledge that they gained at the training will help them to broadcast different civic activities. Axali Samgori's, Axalsofeli's, Vaziani's #2, Teleti's, Rustavi's #6 Public schools' and "Saunje", "Reca", and "Rustaveli" privat schools' Pupils attended the training. 26 participants in total. 
Specially invited Trainer Darinka Khubashvili tough participants, about technicality of making video, what kind of visual and audio material they can use while making video, how to hold a  camera, how to move while filming, how to film a interview and etc. 
After finishing theoretical part of training participants went in the street of Rustavi, took some video and at the end of the training evaluate each others work. Participants also got a homework to film videos about civic topics. 
SIQA is planing to make such kind of training in other target schools.

EVS volunteers met pupils form Qeshalo's Public School to talk about the topic "WOMAN - ACTIVE CITIZEN"

In the filed of program "Momavlis Taoba" (Future Generation) at 6 of Match of 2015 German EVS (European Voluntary Service)  volunteers met Pupils from  Qeshalo's Public School, meeting was organised by SIQA and the main topic was "WOMAN - ACTIVE CITIZEN" 
At the beginning of the meeting pupils spoke about why it is impotent for women to be active citizens and how it can be achieved. German volunteers shared their experience with group and they talked about women role in their society. 
Second half of the meeting was workshop "DO IT YOURSELF". From paper, participants created figures to represent how they imagine active woman. At the end with using female gender symbol they create postcards, to gave it away in their community at 8 of March which is International Women's  day. 

SIQA organized Graduation For "English Access Micro-scholarship Program"

5th of March of 2015 SIQA organized graduation For "English Access Micro-scholarship Program" at center of civil engagement. SIQA hosted Second group of this  Two-years program. Programs is supported by embassy of United Stated and organized by PH International. During this two years 25 pupil from Vulnerable Families were able to learn English and Enhanced their leadership skills with helping of High-qualified teacher Qeti Maisuradze.
US Embassy Cultural Attache of James Dewey, US embassy's English language programs  coordinator  Lika Dumbadze, PH International's English language programs manager Nana Ioseliani-Meissner, Rustavi Public School's headmasters, SIQA's representatives, parents and pupils Also attended this emotional closing ceremony. 

Guest were fascinated of the way SIQA hosted the program and they Thanked  English Teacher for her achievements.   

SIQA's Team participated in International training course "EMPOWERING YOUTH FOR BETTER FUTURE"

20-27 of February of 2015  SIQA's Team participated in International training course 

"EMPOWERING YOUTH FOR BETTER FUTURE". Training took place at Samobor, Croatia. Participates gain knowledge about new and different instruments of working with youth. Training course was focusing more about outdoor activity methods and importance of youth worker.
